Bringing our industrial and social history to life
Calderdale Industrial Museum first opened in 1985, and was closed to the public in 1998, due to lack of funds.
In 2011 a group of committed enthusiasts formed the Calderdale Industrial Museum Association, with a plan to bring the Museum back to life, and to once again make the wonderful objects it houses, available for all to enjoy.
The Museum re-opened in 2017. It is still very much a work in progress but we hope you will agree that we are on the way to providing a first-class addition to the joys of Calderdale.
Taking the past into the future
Our teams of dedicated volunteers continue to restore exhibits and to add new ones, to paint and decorate, to improve our café and shop, and to find ways to make the Museum an even more rewarding experience for all our visitors.
